Welcome to Brooklyn Urgent Care (BKUC) serving Brooklyn and New York patients. Established by Ashraf Salem, MD, BKUC provides urgent care and conservative pain management medical services.
Comprehensive services available include EKG, ultrasound, x-ray and diagnostic imaging to assist with broken limbs, fractures, and lacerations. We also provide onsite lab services, taking your blood, urine, saliva and anything else required to treat common illnesses, right on our premises. BKUC also specializes in preventative medicine by offering acupuncture, physical therapy, and chiropractic care. Dr. Ashraf Salem is board-certified in emergency medicine and is a licensed acupuncturist. Yasser Salem combines over a decade of healthcare management consulting and investment management expertise to optimize patient-experience and administrative functions. Together Ashraf Salem, MD and Yasser Salem, MBA, have created an all-inclusive, people-centered healthcare facility for Brooklyn patients in need of urgent care and other medical services.

Dr. Aliyah Morgan, MD
Dr. Aliyah Morgan, daughter to Bernice Johnson and Hubert W. M. Morgan –a well-known Social Activist from Jamaica and a Pan-African Nationalist –comes out of retirement to continue to service her community at the Brooklyn Urgent Care Center located in one New York’s most diverse communities, right in the heart of Brooklyn. This comes as no surprise, given the old saying “the apple never falls too far from the tree”, this grand-daughter of an African and a Black-Foot & Creet Native American, as well as the daughter of a Farmer-Preacher, from Louisiana comes from a lineage of community figures. Dr. Aliyah Morgan Sabah was a highlight of the Dr. Betty Shabazz Award ceremony in 2008 when she became a recipient of the Compass Award given by the elite organization Women In Islam; an honor given to women who are widely recognized for their dedication to helping others.
Dr. Morgan obtained her MPH in Community Health Education and went on to pursue her medical training at Stony Brook Medical School and as the second Black Woman Graduate from its medical program, she acknowledges her accomplishments with such humbleness. After completing medical school, so began her history of working in underserved communities. In addition to working with families affected by homelessness, sexual violence, addiction and poverty; she has helped managed many health issues that pervade the west-Indian community.
For over Thirty years, she has dedicated her career to addressing health care disparities and treating patients with HIV-AIDS, diabetes, hypertension, malnutrition, obesity, domestic violence, in some of the best Hospitals and Clinics in the center of these communities, such as Harlem Hospital, Roosevelt Hospital and now Brooklyn Urgent Care. Currently, Dr. Morgan is the Director of Community Medicine at the Brooklyn Hospital Center, for the Department of Family Medicine, and has been with Brooklyn Hospital for over thirteen years. She still sits on the board of Community service Organizations in Staten Island and currently working at Brooklyn Urgent Care as a partnering provider of Emergency Medicine alongside President and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ashraf Salem.
Patrice Martin is a Radiologic Technologist and Patient Experience Coordinator at Brooklyn Urgent Care.
At Brooklyn Urgent Care, Patrice is responsible for medical imaging examinations, where she works closely with physicians to evaluate medical images and determine whether additional tests should be taken. She is also part of the Patient Experience team, where she is the first point of contact for patients visiting or calling our facilities.
Patrice graduated from New York City College of Technology, where she earned her Associates Degree.
Deshia Henry is a Medical Assistant at Brooklyn Urgent Care. Prior to working at Brooklyn Urgent care, she was a Patient Care Coordinator at a Dental office for two years and was an Assistant Manager at a Life Insurance Company for six years.
Deshia graduated from the Allen School of Science, where she was the top student in her class. Her warm approach and reassuring presence calms anxious patients, and makes them feel right at home. She is deeply passionate about caring for patients and being apart of the BKUC team
